| Dr. Timothy Butler |
A principal and co-founder of CareerLeader, LLP, Dr. Timothy Butler is Senior Fellow of Business Administration and Director of Career Development Programs
at the Harvard Business School, where he has worked since 1984. He has worked as a psychologist, psychotherapist, and career counselor for over thirty years.
Together with Dr. James Waldroop, he developed CareerLeader®, which is currently used by over 400 MBA programs and corporations around the world,
and includes the Business Career Interest Inventory,
the Leadership Motivations Profile, and the Leadership Skills Profile, all instruments designed by Butler and Waldroop.
For over 25 years, Dr. Butler's research has explored the relationship between personality structure and finding and sustaining meaningful careers.
In his research and consulting work, Dr. Butler has interviewed thousands of business professionals from a wide range of industries and functions. His psychological testing
database now contains profiling on over 350,000 individuals from 84 countries. He has lectured and taught business career self-assessment and career counseling process at
universities around the world.
He has also worked with a wide range of organizations and with business professionals from
both the manufacturing and service sectors, from Fortune 500 corporations
to smaller high-growth firms. CareerLeader, LLP' clients include McKinsey & Company,
Fidelity Management Research Company, Sony Music Entertainment, Globespan Capital Partners, Boston Communications Group,
Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath, Manpower, the Boston Consulting Group, and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
