Your Work Reward Values
.

After investigating the BCII, you'll have gotten a sense for your "career interest universe" that we referred to earlier. Exactly what career path makes the most sense for you depends on two more variables: your values and your abilities. We'll look at values first. When we talk about values we mean work reward values, not honesty, compassion, and so forth. Different jobs and careers provide us with different rewards: some reward us with money, others with power, some with prestige, still others with intellectual challenge, etc. In choosing a career you need to determine how much you value these different rewards, so you can be clear about what you're "shopping for" when you look at various career options.
Human nature being what it is, most of us will say that we want everything. Unfortunately, any given career is unlikely to give us everything. In taking the Management and Professional Reward Profile you will be asked to answer a series of "forced choice" comparison questions (e.g. What is more important to you, security or autonomy? Prestige or variety?) In this way the MPRP helps you to prioritize your valuing of different rewards.
Let's look at a sampling from the MPRP test next.
